Prof. Asoc. Besim Boçi

Dr Besim Boçi has already more than 20 years of experience specialized in Otorhinolaryngology, in Head and Neck surgery and plastic face surgery. He has performed a wide variety of procedures in facial plastic surgery such as rhinoplasty, otoplasty and blepharoplasty achieving pleasing results. He has an enormous experience in neck surgery including larynx surgery as a total of laryngectomy (complete removal of the larynx), hemilaryngectomty (partial removal of the larynx), removal of polyps in the larynx with shaver without damaging the vocal chords, the removal of tumoral masses in larynx and shaver endoscopy, removal of tumor masses in the neck of benign or malignant character, surgery of the salivary glands, mainly parotis gland with the facial nerve exposure. He has successfully achieved for the first time rehabilitation speech in patients whose larynx was removed with very good results and today the number of prosthetic patients has reached 150. Also, Dr. Boci has a wide experience in nasal treatments with open surgery and endoscopy, radio frequency tonsillectomy and nasal flesh (adenoid) with shaver and many other interventions in this specialty respecting clinical protocols.
After completing a specialization in Otorhinolaryngology in 1999 he began to operate in the Otorhinolaryngology Service at the University Hospital Center. In 2001 he specialized in Italy for a period of one year in Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery. In 2005 he completed a Rhinoplasty course at the Academic Medical Center in Netherlands. In 2008 he conducted an intensive course of neck dissection in London, near the Saint George Hospital. In 2008, 2009, 2012 participated in several workshops for Voice Rehabilitation at the Cancer Institute in Netherlands. In 2013 he carried out a course for Laser Surgery at the University Mont-Godinne, Belgium. In 2014 he completed an intensive course of larynx surgery in Crans Montana, Switzerland in collaboration with the University Mont-Godinne Belgium.

From 2013 onwards Head of Service Otorhinolaryngology UMCT.
